S'mores for dessert?

Well those breakfast pies got me thinking and my own mini dessert would be delicious. Looking around my kitchen I wanted to come up with something gooey and chocolaty for my late night snack. I found we had left overs from when I made s'mores on stick (more on those another time) so into my pie maker went the ingredients!

This recipe was even easier than the scrambled eggs and bacon! I cut the pie dough to fit into my pie maker, crumbled up cinnamon graham crackers into the crust, added chocolate squares, a few pieces of pecans and closed the lid! 8 minutes later, came out little chocolate pies! To add the gooey part, I through on one marshmallow and put it under the broiler for just another minute or two... as you can see from the picture-  this one definitely hit the spot!

(Side Note- next time I won't try to eat my baked goods so quickly and will get a better picture!)

My thoughts for next time- I would make sure the chocolate was room temperature so it would melt evenly and I would not pre-heat the broiler... take it away Larry-

Mini Pies for Breakfast

Let me start by saying that I've wanted the mini-pie maker from William Sonoma since Christmas of last year. At the time, there were none left in the United States or Canada! While at the mall on Friday, we found the pie maker (on-sale!) in the store! We decided I had to have it (along with the cookbook). I've been debating on what would be my first mini-pie all weekend... this morning, I knew exactly what I wanted to cook...

Scrambled Egg and Bacon Mini Pie!

It was really easy and delicious (see more on Larry's review below). I had cook all the bacon first which took a while. In the future, I'll make the bacon the day before and have it ready. All you have to do is mix the egg, milk, hot sauce, black pepper and salt, poor into the pie maker with the bacon and cook. 8 minutes later you will have a little pie for breakfast!

Now the next question is- what to make for dessert tonight??

Larry's Thoughts: these mini breakfast pies were delicious. It added my breakfast foods with the idea of pie together was a blend of two of my favorite things. I really liked the added hot sauce- it was a nice spicy touch. The cheese melted just right on top... the only downside was I only got to have one.  I could have eaten all four.
